5/26/2010 Official Communication From Moose International for May 26, 2010 Rebooking Information For Members With OPRYLAND HOTEL Reservations

ATTENTION: Lodges and Chapters, Your Assistance May Be Required

Likely beginning this week, and for the next week or so, members who were booked at the Opryland Hotel will be notified of their new hotel location. These notifications will be made by telephone and/or e-mail. If a member cannot be reached by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau Housing Office, the member's Lodge or Chapter will be e-mailed with the appropriate rooming information. The Lodges and Chapters are asked to promptly attempt to contact the member, as they have a very limited amount of time to confirm their new rooming assignment or risk losing hotel accommodations for our convention in Nashville.

Please check your e-mail frequently for the next few weeks and ensure your e-mailbox does not become filled to capacity! Your support will be greatly appreciated by us and your members attending the International Moose Convention.

REGARDING HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

* Everyone who was booked at Gaylord Opryland will be moved to other hotels. ALL RE-BOOKINGS WILL BE HANDLED BY MOOSE INTERNATIONAL. You will be contacted directly by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau's Housing Office regarding your new hotel assignment and will be requested to furnish credit card information to your new hotel within a specific time period.

* If you are holding reservations at any hotel OTHER THAN Gaylord Opryland, your reservation is in force, at that same hotel; NO ACTION is required on your part.

* All rooms being re-booked to a downtown hotel will pay the same $99 per night that they would have been charged at Opryland - even though many of these properties usually command substantially more.

* If you have NOT already booked a room and wish to attend the Convention, you may still obtain a reservation by calling 630-966-2213. You MUST be registered for the Convention in order to obtain any room reservations.

* Please DO NOT contact downtown hotels yourself; you will NOT be able to reserve a downtown hotel room independently. Moose International is currently holding ALL space.

Our New and Improved 2010 International Convention In Downtown Nashville -- We Think, Better Than Ever!

Our 2010 International Convention will occur, in its entirety and on schedule, July 1 - 7, In Nashville, Tennessee!

Only now, we think our members will enjoy it even more as we will be right in the middle of all the excitement - in downtown Music City, USA!

For the younger and fitter among us, most of our downtown venues will be within walking distance of each other; for those of us who tire more easily, there will be plenty of free shuttle service between designated Moose Convention hotels and Convention sites.

Following our meeting on May 11 with Nashville officials, which was personally attended by Mayor Karl Dean, here is our update:

5/4/2010 To Men and Women of the Moose:

Obviously we are fully aware of the fact that Gaylord Opryland Resort, which had been scheduled to be the Headquarters Hotel for the July 1-7, 2010 International Moose Convention, and site of all Convention/Conference meetings and most evening events, sustained unprecedented flooding damage over the weekend of May 1-2, due to historic flooding in central Nashville.

We are aware that some of our members who were booked into the Opryland hotel have already received emails from Gaylord indicating that their reservations were being canceled and any monies refunded.

We are working with representatives in Nashville to reconstruct the schedule of our 2010 International Convention. Our intention is to maintain the entire schedule of meetings and entertainment, in Nashville, to the maximum extent possible.

As we learn more over the coming hours and days, we will keep you posted in this space on www.moose2010nashville.org, within an hour or two after we finalize any new arrangements.

At this point, we're hoping -- and working -- for the best!

Fraternally,

William B. Airey

Director General
